Forum Rules
1. Treat other members with the respect they deserve. This should go without saying, but treat others like you would like to be treated !
2. The forum language is English only! Please only post in other languages in PM.
3. Please do not spam. The definition of spam is an irrelevant or advertising post. Any post considered spam will be removed.
4. Please do not post threads text in all CAPITALS since this is considered to be shouting and is not necessary.
5. Please refrain from posting images larger than 800x600. This is considerate to members with slow internet speeds, and keeps the forum looking tidy.
6. Using red text is forbidden. Only moderators and administrators may use this.
7. Insulting and flaming or personal attacks against forum staff will be not tolerated.
8. Please be considerate in language you use on the forum, some of our members are younger than others. Swearing is not completely banned, just do not swear unnecessarily, and only use minor words. A filter is in place to safeguard this system.
9. No hacking, and illegal activity, such as torrents and illegal downloads, this will not be tolerated, and if appropriate, may be reported to local authority.
10. Please do not post inappropriate material, I think everyone understands what I mean by this. The policy goes that if you would not feel comfortable viewing it at work, or in front of children or parents, don't post it !
I think these rules are clear, and easy to follow. These are only in place to ensure our community is a fun place to be, and a comfortable atmosphere for all.
It is not acceptable for members of the site to post links to sites for the sole purpose of promoting the site and/or driving traffic to them. This includes promotion of one's own sites/pages or those they are affiliated with. This has generally been viewed as standard etiquette between websites and website communities. Such behavior is viewed as being similar to spamming a website.
It is acceptable to post a link to another website or page on a related topic/post to provide relevant information. The page/site should be to directly address the question/issue/concern/etc. being posted about here.
This limit INCLUDES any text and/or images. A single line of text is approximately 20px. So, if you have one line of text and want to include an image, your image can be no higher than 100 pixels, such that the total (20 + 100) is 120 pixels OR LESS.
Now, these are the maximums. Personally, I like to see them a little smaller, but I am giving some allowances for this. Bigger images in sigs don't necessarily look better. For example, the MAIN banner of the website is only 100 pixels high (but, of course, much wider than 600 pixels).
Anyone who is seen to be outside of this limit will be subject to a request to fix the problem. Any lack of response will result in your signature being removed altogether.
Thread hijacking is when a discussion goes into a tangent that is not in the spirit or intent of the original poster's post.
Essentially, don't hijack other people's discussion threads. It is understandable that a thread may evolve into many topics, but it should generally be done with the consent or direction of the original poster. A comment on a related topic is okay. However, if it looks like the thread is going away from its original purpose, and the original topic was not brought to a closure, please do not contribute to the hijacking of a thread.
You may, POLITELY, suggest everyone try to get back on topic, if you see a thread going off-topic. Something like "hey everyone... let's try to stay on topic for the original poster" should be well-received.
The policy for this has resided within the "For Free" forum, since that's where most people thought to post "wanted" posts. However, it makes sense to put a reference/copy here, as it really is a policy intended to be site wide.
In short, they're not allowed.
ANY Violation of site policies/ can result in being banned/removed from this forum.
Admin/moderators can remove anyone from this site for any reason deemed to their discretion.
